“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Drowning in a sea of voices. Inundated with Podcasts, TV, social media, Trying to hear one thing, one person, or absorb one image is nearly impossible. The voices and images hit you like waves crashing against your spirt.
You feel directionless, lost, hearing what is wrong in the world all the time, and the good news, just doesn’t seem to apply to you. There are so many voices fighting for your attention, how do you choose? how to you navigate the to the shores of peace?
Shut it down
Being quiet is not just sitting in a space and hearing GOD. It may take all you have and sacrificing even those you love for your own sanity and salvation, by shutting down completely and finding your way through the darkness.
The quieter one becomes the louder people can be.
1.Place yourself in an environment that helps you concentrate.
Take an opportunity to find the “alone” time needed to just be one with self. Before you sleep or as you wake take a moment to be at peace, talk to GOD, concentrate on hearing his word and speak life to yourself silently focus on you. Even if its 5 min a day, it’s the moment.
2. Take a break
Take a break from the news, from social media, from TV. You may have to tell a few friends that you will talk to them later
“until day dawns and the morning star rises” in our hearts (2 Peter 1:19) No matter how hard we try not to, we still keep getting in our own way. Finding solutions to problems, by creating bigger ones. Feeling lost and unable to find a way out of darkness. But GOD fights for us constantly. It’s hard to embrace silence when everything and everyone around you is speaking. It’s even harder when silence is around you, but noise carries on within you.
Surrender your woes and know your voice is within you. That you are heard and favored and worthy of the precious life that you are given.
Those that understand why you removed yourself for a moment, will never leave you and those that walked away when you needed to step aside, were not meant to be in your presence. Let GOD lead you and let faith guide you.
